Anthony Sanchez BPolo September 2017 AofM

Boys’ Water Polo:  Anthony Sanchez (#410708) 12th Grader Current  GPA: 3.0    Varsity

“Anthony Sanchez is a 4-year water polo player who has continued to impress us with his dedication and commitment to our team. Throughout this last summer, he really established himself as a leader, he took charge of running the swim sets, started to communicate with field players about positioning to funnel shots on goal, and began to guide our newer players. He is not the player that leads vocally but rather the type of player that leads by example; he is the first one in the pool, the first one done with his swim sets, the first one to start the drills, and they type of player that gives 100% for 100% of the practice.”

Kim Meza Girls Volleyball September 2017 AofM

Kim Meza Girls Volleyball September 2017 AofM

Girls’ Volleyball:  Kimberly Meza (#332657) 12th Grader Current GPA:   3.66  Varsity

“She is the most stubborn player I have ever met, and this is why I am nominating Kimberly Meza as athlete of the month.  Kim does not settle for anything less than great.  If you tell her “That was a good hit”, she would say she can or needs to do better.  She continues to try and outwork herself by competing against her old self to get better than before.  There is nothing she won’t do to stay on the court for as long as she can.  She is the type of player that others appreciate as their team mate because she is always striving to get better and do her best.  When it comes right down to it, it’s her stubbornness that pulls her through to do her best both for herself and for her team mates.”  Coach Sok
