Boys’ Cross-Country: Angel Ramirez  11th Grader Current GPA: 3.83 Varsity
“He has really worked hard and made big improvements in the last month. At Orange County Championships he ended up being our fastest runner with a time of 16:00. He has also improved approximately two minutes in the last year and there is still room to grow.
his coaches are proud of him, as he is also an outstanding student. Lastly he has gone from a borderline JV runner to one of our top five runners.” Coach Sanchez
Girls’ Cross-Country: Iris Pena 9th Grader Current GPA: 3.83 JV
“Although Iris has health problems that ideally would make it difficult to perform the sport, she is one of our most dedicated JV runners who continues to improve. Through her hard work she inspires team mates to not make excuses, keep pushing themselves and to appreciate the talents that they do have.” Coach Conde
Football: Patrick McMorris 11th Grader Current GPA: 3.16 Varsity
“Patrick has done an outstanding job for our varsity team, and we are so excited about his development as an athlete, team-mate, and leader. He truly embodies all of our core-values and he practices them to the best of his ability. On the field, Patrick has emerged as a shut-down corner alongside senior defensive back, Brian Gachuzo. Additionally, Patrick has done great work in the classroom.”  Coach Echaves

Girls’Tennis: Carmin Gomez 11th Grader Current GPA: 3.00 Varsity
“Carmin’s extremely positive attitude sets a great example for the rest of the team. Carmin played competitive tennis against league favorite Laguna Beach, taking that experience against Saddleback & Estancia to go 5-1 against them. She makes the most of practice, making tremendous improvements, working hard to implement new techniques. Carmen is very humble in victory and always positive in defeat.” Coach Cortez
Boys’ Water Polo: David Ramos 11th Grader Current GPA: 3.50 Varsity
“David Ramos is the type of athlete that coaches love to have in their programs, he works extremely hard and is able to take direction and immediately apply it to the game. He has improved tremendously over the course of the summer and the beginning part of our season. While he has been named JV Captain for the 2016 season he does get a good amount of Varsity playing time as well, and has made the adjustment to being what each team specifically needs. His defensive abilities have helped keep us in close games and have forced teams to look to the outside to take shots. In addition to his coachability , David also shows great dedication, attending every afternoon practice as well as nearly every morning practice since June. It is with great pride that Coach Lee & I name David Ramos our Athlete of the Month.” Coach Morris
Girls’ Volleyball: Vanessa Lopez 12th Grader Current GPA: 3.85 Varsity
“I have seen Vanessa Lopez grow within the last few years and I couldn’t think of a much more deserving young lady to receive this honor as Athlete of the Month. Vanessa has been very patient to receive her spotlight and has worked hard to get to where she is
today. Not only does she have the drive, focus and determination on the court, but she excels in everything she does off the court.  Vanessa Lopez is a senior this year, and I have no doubt in my mind that she will go far. She is a highly respectable young lady
amongst her peers and her coaches. Vanessa is the definition of what it truly means to be a Godinez Grizzly!” Coach Sok
